For almost 20 years, Ryan Benson has been building homes in Florida. Born near Toronto, Ryan moved to Southwest Florida with his family while in middle school. Graduating from Canterbury School in Fort Myers, Ryan went on to complete his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Stetson University and his Masters of Business Administration from Florida International University in Miami.
While at Stetson, Ryan first started working in Custom Homes, and moved back to Southwest Florida to continue his career. Ryan joined A. Vernon Allen Builder in the mid-2000’s and later became partner, then acquired AVA with business partner Andy Bringardner.
Ryan remains very active in the community, serving on the board of directors for the Collier Building Industry Association and is also a director for Boys and Girls Club of Collier County, past president of Naples Gulfshore Sunset Rotary, past trustee of Canterbury School, and supports numerous other non-profits locally.
Andrew Bringardner has genuine passion for his work at A. Vernon Allen Builder. Beyond his developmental and management roles inside the firm, Andy focuses on many projects as liaison between the construction team and the client. He plays an essential and accessible role throughout the building process including coordination with architects, engineers, artisans, and designers. Andy evokes a high level of business integrity. With an economic background, he understands that budgeting and financial planning is crucial to every project. Coupled with his construction knowledge, he can assist with many client decisions. He recognizes the value in customer service and client relationships. His uncompromising attention to detail includes superior construction methods, creative function and design, and innovative trends and technologies. Andy strives to maintain the focus of AVA on first-class quality, luxury, and craftsmanship. He knows how to meet and exceed the client’s expectations from concept to completion.
After college, Andy favored returning to his hometown of Naples. He graduated from Barron Collier High School and Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Economics. He began his career working for a local shell contractor. After several years, he gained his Certified General Contractor’s License. Andy joined the A. Vernon Allen Team in 2006 as an Assistant Superintendent. His hard work, quick study, and desire to excel made him a good fit with the firm. In 2013, he partnered with co-worker, Ryan Benson to purchase AVA and become the newest generation of owners.
Andy frequently attends conferences to acquire industry updates and the newest information. He is active in the Collier Builder Industry Association (CBIA) and the Naples Chamber of Commerce. Andy is a Leadership Collier graduate (2017) as well as a G.A.I.N graduate (2011). He is involved in a variety of civic and charitable organizations, including serving on the Youth Leadership Collier Selection Committee and the Matching Needs Committee for the Naples Chamber.
After graduating from the University of Florida – Rinker School of Building Construction, John moved back to Naples to work with Vernon Allen, the namesake of the company that he would purchase years later. Starting in the late 70’s, the company was under John’s direction for the next 37 years. Under his ownership, A. Vernon Allen Builder, Inc. was the foremost contractor in the finest neighborhoods in Naples.
Outside of AVA, John stays involved with Outward Bound, a premier provider of experience-based outdoor leadership programs for youth and adults, and has served on its national board. Additionally, he served the Governor of Florida’s Early Learning Coalition as a Board Member from 2004-2009 and Chairman from 2009-2012. He also was a member of the Rotary Club of Naples for 35 years.
Helping organize the day-to-day operations of Principals Ryan Benson and Andy Bringardner, Stacey Felton brings a variety of experience to the table. As a Michigan native and Florida resident since 2009, her background consists of property management, office management and copywriting.
A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Carla Iriarte brings excellent experience from both the administrative and accounting fields. She is responsible for many of the day-to-day accounting functions of our firm.
After working in administration for a defense contractor and real estate, Pat Creighton came to work with our AVA more than 16 years ago and has worked in our accounting and finance office since. Pat is a trusted asset with the contractor accounting process.
After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Civil Engineering, John came to work at the firm as an Assistant Project Manager. A native Floridian, John worked at Naples construction firms throughout the summers while attending UF. John brings a wealth of experience to the firm in the technical areas of construction, budgeting, estimating and resource management.
As a native Floridian of Naples, Cashondra Chandler brings a multitude of skillsets to A. Vernon Allen Builder. After a background in education for 11 years, she decided to venture to a career in Growth Management. During this time, Cashondra developed extensive knowledge of building & planning review. She is now seeking a master’s degree in Business Administration. Cashondra has facilitated a history of developments in Collier County’s residential and commercial projects. She brings a highly dedicated work ethic to meet deadlines, while displaying professionalism, and the ability to clearly achieve successful end results, making her an asset to our team.
Terry has been with our company for more than 30 years, starting as a carpenter in the late 1970s. Today, he now has some of the finest residences in Southwest Florida as a claim to his portfolio of work he has supervised. He is an outstanding and critical member of our team and handles some of our top projects.
Shawn has 33 years of experience in the construction industry. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he has been building in the Naples area for 25 years. He has been involved in every aspect of construction from framing to tile and marble installation, all the way through to Superintendent, managing multi-million dollar projects. He is highly dedicated, disciplined and ethical which helps him achieve the very high standards of quality that are necessary for our clients.
Estate Management Director
Maggie Ives joined AVA as the estate management director in 2014. A specialist in hands-on, personalized interactions with high-end clienteles, she works directly with estate owners to plan and execute the highest quality of comprehensive property management and service. A native Floridian, Maggie grew up in Fort Myers where her family started Ives Book Shop, a fixture of the community for more than 30 years, and graduated Fort Myers High School. She later attended Centre College in Danville, Ky., and Florida SouthWestern State College (formerly known as Edison Community College) in Fort Myers.
Originally from Tennessee, JJ started working with AVA in 1977 as a carpenter. The skills and experiences that he has acquired over his career makes him a valued member of our team.
